Owen In '74 Run For Kansas GOP Leader
Editorial notes that unless voter attitudes shift, Kansas faces a split in high office with Robert Docking leading Democrats to the governorship and Dave Owen a strong lieutenant governor candidate. It argues a future team ticket may pass. Owen, Ottawa University alumnus and four-term Kansas Senator at 34, could become the GOP front runner for 1974.

Reader questions about Legg Perthes disease explain it is an osteochondrosis due to disrupted blood supply to the hip bone, with necrosis and softening. Rest and protection, not surgery, allow circulation to return and the bone to harden. braces or casts protect the weakened area, while activity does not cure it and amateur advice can cause harm. The exact cause is uncertain, but injury may be involved, explaining why boys and active children are more affected.
