Pontiac Cadillac agency reported loss of dealer tag D-919-C to police. Joseph Leo Salb charged with drunken driving pleaded not guilty. trial set. bond posted at 100 dollars. Bruce Perberton and John E D Aboy charged with reckless driving. Perberton bond 25 dollars forfeited. D Aboy pleaded guilty and paroled on 25 dollar fine. County agents to attend district agronomy school in Emporia Tuesday and Wednesday. Mrs Gilliland returns from Venturi California visit. relatives named and illness noted as improved.

Cowell a Cincinnati attorney and brother of Mrs John J Ross of Ottawa and now of Waverly Tennessee He visited Ottawa when the Ross family resided there Also mentions Mrs W L Johnson leaving for Yates Center and hospital admissions including William Means R O Barrows Mary Graham Charles Minnick Emma Johnson plus births and dismissals from local hospitals and other residents.
Dinner at Sand Creek community marked by 30 attendees for their annual Thanksgiving gathering. Church of Christ in downtown holds nightly gospel services at 7:45 led by Wilford Landers of Kansas City. Mrs Elmer Risdon visits Kansas City area kin. Dora Belle Albertson funeral noted. MSgt Kenneth F Boone relocates from Olathe Naval Air Station to Labrador base.
Mr and Mrs Herman Shaw and Judge and Mrs Floyd Coffman attended the dedication of the Cora Groom Memorial Children's Chapel on the Newton campus of the Methodist Home for Children. Dr R Ernest Gordon of Olathe delivered the address as the home is now licensed as a child care agency. Methodists statewide plan Christmas projects to aid the home.
Funeral services for Truman W Hale who died November 16 were conducted at Pomona Methodist Church on November 19 with Rev. Charles P Knight and Rev. Frank Waring officiating. Pallbearers were Neil Kristenson Merle Montague Liomal Shaw Floyd Flager Leo Wittman and Ben Nitcher. Mrs N V Hudelson sang hymns with accompaniment by Mrs Neal Baxter. Interment followed at Woodlawn Cemetery Pomona. I O O F services were provided by Pomona Lodge No 423 with Roy Evans P N G and Ray Reed P N G officiating.
Six Kansas legislators will speak at the Kansas Independent Oil and Gas Assn convention in Wichita opening December 3. They will address prospects for a severance tax on oil and gas in the upcoming January legislative session, with speakers including Sen. Paul Wunsch and Reps. Robert Anderson, R. C. Williams, Howard Bentley, Max L. Dice, and Vernon L. Williams.
Hillsboro Mississippi held a large family reunion and Sunday dinner for Otho Bell the former Bell family member who defected to Korea and then returned claiming he opposed communism. About 75 relatives attended including nine of his 11 siblings and an 80 year old cousin. Dinner was delayed as Otho did not arrive on time and the crowd waited all day with five serving shifts to feed the guests once he finally appeared.
Vice President Richard Nixon flew to Washington from Delray Beach after a vacation at a beach hideout. He played golf yesterday at the Everglades Club in Palm Beach with John H. Perry Jr. of Perry Newspapers Inc. James E. Hillingsworth a retired New York banker and Byron Ramsing, Lake Worth and Riviera bank chairman.
MIAMI Fla Russell Tongay an escaped prisoner said his lapse was caused by amnesia after an auto accident in New Orleans. He told Miami Daily News telephonically he was unconscious for over an hour and only awoke in Los Angeles. Tongay criticized the guard for lax supervision while awaiting treatment in LA.
Local firemen continue Thanksgiving March of Muscular Dystrophy with porchlight campaigns tonight and tomorrow evening to fund research into the disease that mostly strikes children. Citizens are asked to light their porches for donations. missed donors can call 96 for a fireman to collect.
Washington The American Farm Bureau Federation urged boosting farm capacity and creating off farm jobs to aid low income farmers. Matt Triggs assistant legislative director described the plan in testimony for the Senate House economic sub committee on low income families noting rural areas face underemployment and low per capita farm production.
