Born December 22, 1878 in Clay City Illinois he lived in Arkansas before moving to Richmond in 1919 with his family. Survived by five children Glen Roy Dale Thelma and Verna, two brothers, twenty two grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. Funeral Monday at 3 p.m. Princeton Methodist church with Rev. Paul Davis officiating. Burial in Princeton Cemetery. Grandsons pallbearers.

In El Paso two jets went down within an hour killing three airmen from Forbes AFB Topeka Kansas. A B47 bomber struck a newly laid house foundation near the International Airport as a dust storm reduced visibility to a half mile. A second plane, a T33 trainer, crashed and burned. two crewmen yet unnamed were aboard. Civilian casualties were avoided though one unoccupied house burned. Emergency crews recovered the B47 crew Maj J M Fantell 1st Lt J R Wilson and Capt J R Kingston all married.

American POW says Russians gave good care after forced landing

A two toned twister struck White Pine and Jefferson City in Jefferson County Tennessee from a black cloud late yesterday, causing $100,000 in damage. No deaths or injuries were reported. The tornado touched down about 20 miles west of Knoxville.
