Feds seize second flock of Vermont sheep suspected of disease
Federal agents moved at dawn to seize 125 East Friesian milking sheep from a Vermont farm after protesters clashed with officers. The sheep were to be sent to a USDA laboratory for brain testing for transmissible spongiform encephalopathies as officials continue steps begun with an earlier seizure of 234 sheep from a Greensboro farm.

The Mir space station disintegrated over the South Pacific ending its 15 year mission. Russian controllers and officials from Russia and Australia hailed a well executed deorbit as debris rained into the ocean near Fiji.
