Wellsville Community Notes Highlight Local Events
Wellsville residents attended a basketball game at Hutchinson as the Wellsville team played at state. The city council met February 28 at City Hall. Baker University students Amanda Lytle and Brock Stumpff from Wellsville competed in the Heart of America indoor track meet in Marshall, Missouri, with Lytle placing fourth in the weight throw and Stumpff earning medals. Frances Louise Kilmartin, born 1923, died March 9, 2001 in Overland Park. Funeral services were held at Good Shepherd Church in Shawnee. A Summer league sign up and Round Up for Hunger drive were announced, with church hymnals for purchase and a sanctuary committee meeting set for March 27.
