California power back on as repairs resume amid rolling outages
California regulators hoped to avoid further rolling blackouts as repairs returned online and conservation cut demand. Stage 1 alert issued at dawn with reserves near seven percent and Stage 2 expected evening. About 500000 customers affected by Tuesday outages, blamed on unpaid payments to small renewable plants and high heat. Detmers of the ISO said more plants should come online by week end as residents cut usage.
