Ottawa area weekend events feature auctions and art shows
An auction Saturday night at Ottawa Municipal Auditorium features Acwaestine items and auto graphed sports memorabilia to benefit a cause, with pre view 4 to 7 p.m. and bidding from 7 p.m. Also Lions Club stew and pie supper runs 5 to 7 in the auditorium basement. More than 200 items include local art shows at Afiséin Memorial Hospital, Arts Center, and Ottawa Library. The Renegade Theatre hosts American Airborne at 8 p.m. tonight and Saturday, while KU hosts choral and jazz programs at Lied Center. Additional events include a Topeka Home Show, model railroad show, Carousel opening, and Kansas City area concerts and competitions.

Poll Shows Broad Kansan Support for Lottery Continuation
Kansas Inc released results of a Docking Institute poll showing 76.1 percent favor continuing the state lottery started 7 1/2 years ago, with 71.1 percent backing dedicating 85 percent of lottery proceeds to economic development. The survey of 1,132 adults Feb 13 27 had a 3 percent margin of error.

Weather outlook shows Sunday with a statewide chance of rain and temperatures ranging from mid-20s in the northwest to near 40 in the southeast for lows and low 40s to near 60 for highs. Standoff ends fatally for area man in Osage City
