Two fired in bus left child on handicapped preschooler

Chanute Kansas AP reports two people were fired after a handicapped four year old girl was left on a school bus following routes. Dan Shoemake, head of ANW Special Education Cooperative, said driver Vickie Rodriguez and rider Jessie Brewer were terminated. The child Ashley Drummond was found crying and shaking after reportedly being on the bus about two hours. Authorities say there should have been an additional adult aboard for under five children and buses must be checked before lockup. The family described the incident as negligence.
