Slattery predicts new Congress with overhaul effort
Slattery told about 40 residents in Ottawa that the next federal budget should cut entitlements and nonessential items. He argued Medicare Medicaid and Social Security consume large shares and urged three-tier health care and universal coverage. He noted the budget battle will hinge on what new lawmakers bring and praised potential fresh ideas over mere opposition. His stop was hosted by the Franklin County Democratic Committee with several local candidates present.
