Area students honored for scholarships and honors across Kansas

Area high school seniors and college students receive academic honors across Kansas. Jinny Haven of Ottawa High earned a Texas Christian University scholarship. other students from Ottawa, Osage City, Wellsville, Paola, Lyndon, and Garnett were named to honor rolls at Walter University, University of Kansas, and Kansas State University. Two area students were elected to ASG senate at Emporia State University for 1992-93. A local student, Cory Norwood, won a $500 scholarship from the Missionary Kansas State Convention USA for an oratorical contest.

Finney elected chairwoman of oil and gas commission
