Skunk Run Days festival enlivens Ottawa June 11 12

Ottawa hosts Skunk Run Days with a book and plant sale by Friends of the Ottawa Library, a crafts fair by the Ottawa Community Arts Council, and a quilt show by the Ottawa Quilters Guild. The event features a 5K run, a Fun Run, historical tours of the 1859 Dietrich Cabin, author appearances by Frank and Jayni Carey, music, dance, and an array of vendors and activities in City Park.

Visitors tour 1859 Dieterich Cabin weekend event

The Franklin County Historical Society hosts a weekend of activities at the 1859 Dieterich Cabin. Folk storyteller Jim Wallen in period dress will entertain, cookbook authors Frank and Jayni Carey speak 1 to 3 pm, and a pig roast is planned. Sunday features a Quilters Guild fashion show at 3:30 pm with a quilt drawing at 4 pm. A Skunk Run 5K begins at 8 am followed by a 1 mile Fun Run at 8:30.
