The firm expanded its office space at the Franklin County Office Annex, and Southview has served Ottawa since 1984.

Prosectors say three men used inmates Social Security numbers and prison library tax forms to induce the IRS to mail 115000 in refunds. An inmate released, a prison visitor, and outside worker Philip Nelson were indicted for tax fraud after filing for 800000 in refunds in 1989 and 1990. Nelson pleaded guilty.
