Ottawa groups win Kansas Arts grants for 1993

Kansas Arts Commission awarded over 750000 in grants to five local and area groups including Ottawa Community Arts Council receiving 7000 for general operations and Arts Center. Ottawa Municipal Auditorium got 750 for the Famous People Players show on April 3 1993. Two Baldwin City groups also listed.

Coroner rules death murder in Kevorkian case

A coroner ruled the May 15 death of Susan Williams a homicide, citing active participation in administering carbon monoxide poisoning with a mask and canister linked to Dr. Jack Kevorkian. Garnett Kansas board of education approved three new hires Lawrence Noland Theodore Zogg and Kathy Harrington for positions at Anderson County Junior Senior High Mont Ida Elementary and Mont Ida.
