Governor Will Be on General Ballot State Conservatives Pick Wallace
The Conservative Party of Kansas nominated George C. Wallace for president and John Couture for vice president with 10.2 percent of Kansas votes in 1968. They rejected nominating Shultz or Miller for governor, chose Gene Miller for U.S. Senate, and endorsed other congressional nominees while planning a possible name change to American Party of Kansas.
