U S hikes beer import duty on Ontario products
The United States raises a 50 percent duty on beer from Ontario in retaliation for alleged protectionist measures. The Ontario liquor board charges a 2.53 per case warehousing fee and a 2.40 per case environmental tax on aluminum cans. American brewers claim Ontario costs total 59 million dollars.
