Applebee's Ottawa set to open July 29 with local ties
Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar in Ottawa is nearly finished and slated to open July 29. General manager J W Fisher says the restaurant is mostly complete, hiring about 85 locals from Ottawa and nearby communities amid nearly 200 applicants. The outlet will feature local touches like the hometown hero wall and corners dedicated to Ottawa University, the Cyclones, Fire and Police departments, and Volkswagens with kissing drivers. Fisher cites small town values and community engagement, including scholarships through Steak and Education programs and certificates for students.
