Mammoth tusk found at Colorado housing site near Denver
In Parker Colorado a construction crew unearthed an 18 foot wooly mammoth tusk dating back at least 10 000 years near a creek bed south of Denver. Denver Museum scientists say the fossil likely from a fully grown male Columbian mammoth could date up to 50 000 years and will be dated over a year with sediment aiding the timeline. Paleontologists will monitor the 90 acre site as crews continue work and a similar tusk was found eight years ago in Litteton.
