The Dow rose 60.34 to 9856.41 as Greenspan hinted recession may end, yet profit forecasts remain uncertain and few firms forecast growth. Nasdaq fell 9.29 to 1933.29, S&P 500 up 1.30 to 1133.45. Local quotes for major stocks and grains also appear unchanged.
