Forgotten Homewood Cemetery Hidden By Brush And Gate
The old Homewood area cemetery lies one and a half miles north of town, overgrown with waist high brush and 15 to 20 foot trees. About 15 weathered stones date mainly from the late 1800s, many marking young deaths. oldest grave is Madison Masters from 1868. The site features a rusty swinging gate, a barbed wire fence, and a history of local church and cemetery development alongside the town’s rise and decline.
