Franklin County museum to close on Kansas Day amid funding cuts
The museum will shut for Kansas Day and a busy period as Franklin County officials cut the society budget. About one sixth of staff and utilities costs may be affected, with $71,000 allocated next year minus $13,000, plus further $10,000 cut expected. The society pursues grants, a new portal, and plans for a symposium and Smithsonian exhibit.
