Mariners sign Bard to minor league deal for spring
Seattle announces a minor league contract with Josh Bard and invites him to spring training as one of 14 non roster invitees. Bard, 32, appeared in 39 games for Seattle in 2010 batting .214 with seven doubles three homers and 10 RBIs. He split the season between Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners and has spent parts of nine seasons in MLB with Cleveland Boston San Diego Washington and Seattle. He will compete for time behind the plate with Adam Moore and Miguel Olivo.
