Born July 2 in Merriam she taught dance and aerobics across multiple states, directed theatre projects and sculpted public works. Obituary: Frank J. Peine 93 of Princeton dies in 2011

Frank Joseph Peine 93 of Princeton died Tuesday January 4 2011 at Olathe Medical Center. He was born August 24 1917 in Richmond to Herman and Mary Miller Peine. He married Florence Sabba February 27 1946 and farmed near Scipio and later south of Waverly before moving to Ottawa and then Princeton to be near his wife. He is survived by daughter Mary Jo Stone and Jim grandchildren great grandchildren and sisters. Memorials may be sent to Ransom Memorial Hospital Charitable Association. Burial will be at Holy Angels Cemetery Garnett. Burial details and service times provided by Feuerborn Family Funeral Service.

Sheriff's Department reports two thefts in the region. A 49 year old Richmond woman claimed a deer stand was stolen on Tennessee Road Thursday afternoon. A 50 year old Princeton man reported three guns and clothing items taken on John Brown Road Saturday morning.

Warren E. Bud Milton 87 of Ottawa died Monday January 3 2011. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Dengel Son Mortuary Ottawa. He was born June 13 1923 in Parker to John A and Tessie Milton and was a lifelong Ottawa resident. He served in World War II as a staff sergeant in the European Theater and worked as an electrician with IBEW Local 226 until 1986. He married Marjorie E Brumley December 4 1948 in Olathe and is survived by his wife and several children grandchildren and great grandchildren. Burial at Evergreen Mound with VFW Post 5901 honors. Memorials to VFW Post 5901.

Hoboes Lodged in Ottawa City Jail Amid Court Activity

In Ottawa on Jan 5 1911 police court focused on housing hoboes seeking lodging in the city jail. Seven were placed there Tuesday night and seven the previous night. Between Dec 9 and Jan 4 seventy seven hoboes slept over in the jail. Marshal Bruner lamented the lack of work as a deterrent. Main Street felt summerlike at times.
