Bush delays decision on cutting soybean subsidies
Washington AP The Bush administration suspends plans to cut soybean subsidies, deferring a risky move to Congress amid farm program overhauls. Economists say current subsidies encourage overproduction, potentially saving over a billion dollars but risking political backlash in key Senate states. Last year soybeans were harvested on 74 million acres.
