Local couple win best dressed at Black History Month dance

Richard Jackson recalls a good crowd at the Dance Fashion Contest held at VFW Post 5901 for Black History Month. Attendees came from Ottawa Osawatomie Paola and the Kansas City area. Winners were Larry Berry and Valena Mallory, each winning $50. About $200 was raised for the Ottawa Black Awareness Committee scholarship fund.
