Wreck on I 35 Leaves One Dead in Rural Kansas

Edgerton man William J. Hatfield, 42, died at Olathe Medical Center after a pickup rollover on I 35 near Gardner. Steven L. Patton, 34, Wellsville, was flown to St Joseph Health Center and remained in fair condition. The crash occurred at 6 25 p m as Hatfield allegedly grabbed the steering wheel to reach the 175th Street exit, with blood tests pending to assess alcohol.

Kassebaum receives National School Boards award for education leadership

Murder trial in works for Ottawa couple

Assistant County Attorney Scott Ryburn called six witnesses in the hearing on the Ottawa case who described the baby’s injuries as a four-inch temple fracture, multiple head bruises, a broken right forearm, and thigh bone damage with corner fractures. Medical experts said the injuries were likely several days old to recent and inconsistent with a simple fall, with brain death declared after an EEG.

Miami woman starts support group for messies

After 23 years of marriage Felton began a group to help people who live chronically disorganized lives. The first meeting drew about a dozen near her Miami home.
