Fogle proposes golf development at Ottawa quarry site

Fogle Quarry Company announced at the Ottawa Planning Commission meeting its plan to move quarry operations two miles north and convert the former 400 acre east of US 59 and 23rd Street into a golf course covering 190 acres. The plan also includes 44 acre residential lots near 15th and Mainz and near US 59 and Radio Road, plus three additional 25 acre parcels. The main hurdle cited is securing sewer access for the properties.

Children rescued from squalid apartment amid neglect findings

Police found 19 children in filthy conditions with two mattresses and roaches. Five slept on a cold floor as dogs fed from bowls. adults arrived, showed little remorse. One child hospitalized, 18 placed in DCFS shelters. oldest,14, has cerebral palsy.
