TV rating plan unveiled amid fanfare and boos
The TV industry proposed a six tier age based rating system from TV G to TV M for most programs with on screen age tags possibly from January. Critics want explicit warnings for violence sex and language and independent testing. Clinton urged parental input while some lawmakers call for an independent board or alternative system. Sports and news are not rated.
