Galileo data point Io as source of Jupiter radiation
European astronomers report from the American Geophysical Union that Io emits sulfur and oxygen radioactive particles fueling Jupiter's magnetosphere and aurora. Thomas P. Armstrong of the University of Kansas, co-investigator on Galileo, presented observations from the Galileo energetic-particles detector showing Io’s volcanic gases become ionized and accelerated, likely driving strong Jovian emissions.

Total special education enrollment exceeded 5.4 million in 1994-95, driven by earlier identifications and rising ADHD diagnoses.
