Despondent Bride Tries Death After Husband's Death
HOLLYWOOD Four months after marrying an American airman in her Frankfurt home town, 22 year old Margaret Veet attempted suicide following her husband Frank Veet's death from a heart attack. Neighbors say the couple were inseparable. She ignited gas jets with candles and a match, causing an explosion. she suffered burns over about 40 percent of her body but is expected to survive.

Deaths Harry Baumann 79 Wellsville native dies on trip
Harry Ross Baumann 79 of Los Angeles died of a heart attack Tuesday December 13 in Bisbee Arizona while en route from Los Angeles to Lordsburg New Mexico. He lived on the West coast since leaving Wellsville in 1912 and held a life membership in Wellsville Masonic Lodge No 356. Survivors include four sisters and two brothers in Ottawa Wellsville and Topeka. The body arrives in Wellsville tonight with services set for 2 p.m. Saturday December 17 at Coughlin Chapel Wellsville conducted by Rev. Paul Leslie. Burial will be Walnut Creek Cemetery.

Mrs Fisher Dies in 1945 Body to Highland Cemetery
Mrs Fisher, a Methodist church member, died in 1945. Her sole surviving relative is niece Miss Leo Marie Higby of Sarasota Florida, who was raised by the Fishers. Higby arrived in Ottawa last Saturday evening. The Lamb Funeral Home will conduct services Monday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Highland Cemetery.
