Cab Driver Fails Robbery In Florida Capers
Miami Beach police quickly surrounded and captured an armed robbery suspect after taxi driver Frank Dubois provided a running radio account. Albert J. Gilson, a Chicago attorney, was robbed of 28 dollars as the suspect jumped into his cab on a red light. Detective Sgt. William R. Murray identified the suspect as George Eugene Russ, 26, of Bears Falls, Pa. He is held without bail.

State Finances Start Work On Budget Session
TOPEKA The task of financing the state government for the 1957 fiscal year will be started here tomorrow as the Senate and House ways and means committees begin consideration Dec 15 of all budget information. They will prepare measures to appropriate about 250 million dollars and advise how to raise the money. Budget Director James Bibb says the governor's budget won't be complete at convening, but items will be on which lawmakers can begin. The 34 committee members will receive regular pay and allowances in advance of the session, which starts Jan 10 and is limited to 30 days.
