Baker University Choir led by William Rice performs 32 pieces of Christmas carols from many nations at First Methodist Church Baldwin on December 18 at 7 and 8 pm. Thirty-two numbers include Polish British French Czech Native American and other Western works with 26 vocal soloists and two instrumental soloists. There is a theme of global carols and traditional American songs in the program.

Deaths: Elbert Fouls longtime Franklin County farmer
Elbert Bert Carlton Fouls age 75 of Route 1 died at Ransom Memorial Hospital around 5 15 p m after months of illness. Born March 24 1880 in Illinois he moved to Franklin County as an infant and was a farmer active in truck farming and beekeeping. He was a lifelong Union Chapel member and Fidelity Grange. He married Lou Ella Faye Redenbaugh in 1904 who died in 1944. He is survived by one daughter five grandchildren four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral at Towner s Chapel Thursday at 2 p m with Leo Sandon officiating. Burial Highland Cemetery.

Surgery Update for Louise Daven at Kansas City Center
Miss Louise Daven underwent major surgery at Kansas City Medical Center on Saturday and is reported in satisfactory condition. She remains in room 120 F-308. Her sister Miss Marguerite Davenport of Ottawa returned home after visiting since before the operation.
