Homes tour and parade draw big crowds in Ottawa
The Ransom Memorial Hospital Auxiliary sold 905 tickets for its Christmas Homes Tour, up from last year, funding scholarships for Franklin County health careers. A large parade crowd followed, along with full attendance at the Christmas Corner Crafts Show and the Yale Feaste at Ottawa University. Winners were announced for the homes tour drawings and parade front prizes.

Garnett trial delayed for Tanya Cox in murder conspiracy case
The trial of 23 year old Tanya A. Cox from Gallatin Tennessee on charges including three counts of conspiracy to commit first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder was postponed due to a medical emergency. Jury selection was to start today with the trial rescheduled for January 26 to 29. Cox had been released on a $250000 bond in July.

KU vice chancellor to leave for journalism school role
