Gallup Youth Survey Finds Teens Favor Mothers Over Fathers
The Gallup Youth Survey based on 502 teens aged 13 to 17 from Sept 21 to Oct 10 1992 shows 52 percent report getting along very well with their parents and 52 percent say they get along better with mothers than fathers. Teens from rural areas report the most harmonious relationships while large city and nonwhite groups show stronger mother ties. Parental strictness is viewed as just right by 37 percent, with 38 percent deeming parents too strict.
