Clinton vetoes measure to lift arms embargo on Bosnia

President Clinton vetoed legislation to lift the Bosnia arms embargo saying it would intensify fighting, jeopardize diplomacy, and risk American involvement. He warned France and Britain might withdraw support and thousands of U.S. troops could be sent if the embargo is lifted unilaterally. Kansas faces lower sorghum and corn yields with 2.9 million acres of sorghum expected to be harvested at 68 bushels per acre for 197.2 million bushels, down from 1994. Corn production falls to 273.0 million bushels on 2.13 million acres at 140 bushels per acre, while soybeans total 57.4 million bushels from 2.05 million acres at 28 bushels per acre, with 75.6 billion bushels last year. Kansas remains a national leader in sorghum despite declines.
