The Fortune 500 adds more service companies than industrials as the line between product makers and service providers fades. GM holds first place, with Ford and Exxon following. Wal-Mart, AT&T, and Sears enter the top ten as 1994 sales figures redefine the list.

Fire destroys Old Tucson set in Arizona studio blaze
A major blaze at Old Tucson Studios in Tucson, Arizona destroyed about three fourths of the wooden backdrops used in hundreds of westerns. About 300 people and 70 horses were escorted away, four people treated for minor injuries, as 200 firefighters fought the fire aided by water from the Arizona Air National Guard. the cause remained undetermined.
