Physicians Office Complex Bond Deal Nears Final Signoff
A verbal agreement to purchase industrial revenue bonds to build a physicians office complex in Garnett has been reached between Piper Jaffray and a local financial institution. Final signed paperwork is pending. The city will sell bonds, hire construction, and lease back to the hospital which will repay via physician office rents. Bonds set at 450000 dollars, 9.34 percent over 20 years. Hospital shows improving finances with three months of positive revenue totaling about 172000. Grain markets show soybeans 5.29, wheat 3.53, corn 2.32, sorghum 3.68. Community calendar includes Greeley Elementary meeting, Goal 2000 town meeting, high school comedy Rest Assured, St. John’s paper drive, and Chamber of Commerce garage sale with library bake and book sale.
