Rate Hike Sets Gas Prices for Osceola Shelby Areas

The Federal Power Commission will implement an approximate 12 percent rate increase for the average residential heating customer in Osceola, Shelby, and 36 other Nebraska communities served by Northern Natural Gas. The rise, effective October 27, 1976, stems from Northern's April 1976 filing and targets producer rates to spur new gas exploration. Local manager Chris Dahmke notes Congas and other distributors intervened with the FPC, and refunds may apply as pipeline costs shift.
