About 502 Polk County farmers filed wheat allotment applications covering 19 270 acres and 402 188 bushels over three years or five year averages. Officials note 44 percent of acres and 51 percent of bushels are represented, with checks expected around December 1 after contracts are signed.

Mrs. Alex Mustard died Monday at the NOCF Home in York at age 75 after facial paralysis and a stroke. Survived by four children Lee Mustard Meritt Mustard Mrs Elmer Heinemeyer and Mrs Hattie Finecut plus ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the NOCF Home York and she is interred beside her husband in the NOCF cemetery.
Mrs Phil Campbel and her son Crawford visited Genoa on Sunday, meeting local residents and sharing in the day's activities.
A farewell gathering at Green's Chapel honors Rev. and Mrs. C. V. Powell and family as they prepare to move to Waverly. Neighbors praise Rev. Powell's five years of service before presenting a gift and sharing lunch. Local PTA, Ladies Aid, X. L. Class, L. W. Class, and club members hold meetings with officers elected and dances of memory and plans for the year.
Rev. Albert Wagner former Catholic priest at Shelby died after a car crash at the Shelby Catholic cemetery. He died at 2 pm in a Columbus hospital after the 8 am accident. Burial was in Utica following a Requiem Mass at St Patrick's Utica with remarks by Rev Ferdinand Mock. He was born in Germany and ordained in 1911 by Cardinal Gibbons, serving in Pittsburgh before moving to Lincoln. In 1924 he served at Luxemberg Shelby Gresham and other posts including Catholic University Washington.
Miss Sarah Jean Joy of Salem Nebraska and Keith Cox of Osceola married Friday September 15 in Kansas City Missouri by Rev Webb of First Christian Church. Mrs Cox a Peru Teachers College graduate and teacher in Salem plans to continue teaching. Mr Cox son of Roy and Mrs Cox Osceola. graduate of Osceola High School 1927 and to receive a Masters in January.
The city announces no application for the contemplated sewer project will be accepted unless the applicant has been a bona fide Osceola resident for six months prior to the Resolution of Necessity. Absences over half the period may break residency. W. E. Pierson, Mayor.

Families from Fullerton Clarks Polk and Hardville gathered, with many business callers in Grand Island York Columbus Omaha. The Confirmation Class exam is set at Swede Home Church Thursday night. A baby boy arrived to Wesley Sweelnburg, and several residents prepared for the World's Fair in Chicago.

Fifty Chevrolet Master Six Sedans in Baker blue with gold wheels will transport American Legion officials and delegates during the upcoming Chicago convention. Each car has a driver in white uniform and earlock cap, with Legion seal and Official Chevrolet markings on doors and rear covers. Cars will be dispatched from a central point to points within reasonable city limits for the convention.
