Polk County Soil and Water Conservation District Notes

The district notes a cooperator received fish to stock a farm pond through the Soil Conservation Service. Lennis Lind supplied the fish. Ponds lack adequate conservation measures for feasible fish production. Farmers from Greeley and Wheeler counties toured Ray Nyffeler and Wilson Seed Farm as part of irrigation pasture promotion. Fall tasks include earthwork, grass waterways, dam building, land leveling, and seedbed prep for next spring planting. Conservation work questions directed to SCS Technicians.
