Having dinner last Tuesday evening in York were Mr and Mrs Sheldon Bond and family plus house guest Mrs Mabel Blight and Mr and Mrs Fred Bond The 13th birthday of Danny Bond was celebrated Mrs Blight left Friday for her home in Negaunee Michigan after visiting. Weekend guests at Shelby included Carl Olson Holdrege with Harlan and Howard McKeags and Colin McKeag. Jerry Schmoker and Mary of Holdrege stayed with Tom Schmoker and Herman Becker hosted by Lawrence Meister Saturday visitors included Leo Albers.
Plans for Nebraska's largest tractor pull, the Cornhusker Championship, are complete led by Columbus chairman Dennis Garretson. The event at Platte Valley Speedway offers over 3000 dollars in purses across six tractor classes and hot rod and standard divisions, drawing interest from six states. Ag displays accompany the pull as spectators flock to the expanding sport.
Linda J Keith and Robert L Micek were married Saturday at St Joseph Catholic Church rural Bellwood with Rev Paul Rutten officiating. The couple will reside in Shelby and are employed by Douglas Lomason in Columbus. he also farms.
