Stromsburg Bandits Given Two Years
Two youths aged 16 and 18, James Louis James of Stromsburg and James Frank Young of Florida, were sentenced to two years detention on three counts after pleading guilty to robbing the Bank of Stromsburg on June 2, taking pennies nickels dimes and a one dollar bill. The sentences run concurrently.

A large barn on the farm of Donal Wieseman north of Osceola was burned to the ground early Saturday. The blaze, believed to have started from the haymow, had gained headway before discovery, hindering efforts to save adjoining structures. The barn contents and a pony with saddle were lost.
