Raymond C. Raeder born July 9 1876 in Roxbury New York died October 15 1936 at his Osceola home aged 60 years 3 months 6 days. Survived by wife Ethel Sargeant Raeder daughter Mabel Williams Osceola mother and brother Edward P Roxbury. son in law died earlier. He moved to Nebraska in 1904 and worked in ice business in Osceola. formerly with Ed Mickey. Funeral at First Methodist Church Osceola Sunday 4 pm led by Pastor Albert C Monkman. Interment Osceola Cemetery.

August Per Sandberg born August 25 1870 in Velinge Sweden died October 16 1936 at 66 years 1 month 21 days after illness and surgery. Immigrated to America in 1896 living in Detroit Minnesota and Omaha later farming in Polk County Nebraska. Survived by children Elmer V Sandberg and Lillie Kingsley of Clarks and two grandchildren. Funeral at Swede Home with Rev Sward officiating burial in Swede Home Cemetery.

Stromsburg City Takes Over Electric System
Stromsburg moves to assume electric distribution duties after acquiring the gas and electric system from the Iowa Nebraska Gas and Power Co. The city will handle electricity while the company remains responsible for natural gas. A new staff is planned and city offices will be expanded. The change is expected to occur early in November.

All Time Enrollment Record Set at University
Rex N. Carr of Lincoln helped the University of Nebraska establish an all time first semester enrollment record of 6536, surpassing the 6535 mark set in 1929 30. Delayed registrations push the total to about 6550 as nationwide college enrollments rise about 6 percent.
