Polk County Corn Husking Contest Scheduled
A Polk County corn husking contest will be held Wednesday October 26 at 10 am on the Ernest E. Anderson farm three and a half miles west of Osceola on state highway 16. Entries must notify Frank H. Anderson or the county agents office. Prizes are offered by the Osceola Community Club and displayed at John Rogers Store. The county winner will represent Polk at the state contest in York County November 3. Eligibility requires Polk county residence established by March 1 1932. Helpers may notify Mr. Anderson or Mr. Kelly. no remuneration is provided. Everyone is invited to attend and root for favorites. Entries close Saturday October 22 at 9 pm.

Death of William M Bryant 62 services held in Lincoln
Funeral services for William M Bryant age 62 were held Saturday at Grace Methodist Church in Lincoln with interment in Wynka Cemetery. He died Thursday morning at Bryan Memorial Hospital after two weeks of treatment for heart trouble. Survived by wife and children Rev Harold Bryant Miss Maude Bryant Miss Clara Bryant and J Carl Bryant plus three grandchildren. He taught commercial subjects at Stromsburg Normal School Stanbury Missouri University of North Dakota Lincoln High School and Lincoln Schol of Commerce. At his death he led the Accounting Department of Dickinson Secretarial School.
