The school bank grows to 137 depositors, primary class readies its first books, and eighth grade work on percentages shows strength. A social event recounts the Old Time Social Center gathering at Mrs Mills home with roll call, feast, and plans for a 1917 August picnic.

Methodist Church Notes Show Growing Attendance and Music

Last Sunday drew large congregations with rising Sunday school attendance. The Epworth League met with about thirty participants. The Pipe organ and sound earned high praise for musical quality. Next Sunday morning will feature communion with individual cups and a new observance method, followed by an evening service of song and welcome.

The church invites the public to both morning and evening services with sermons on God Day and after Death What Good singing by the choir. Theo J. Asmus is pastor and Dr. Jackson will hold free consultations at Miss Fox residence on Tuesdays Thursdays and Saturdays from 3 30 to 5 30 p m. Jay Hastings traveled to Central City Friday. Mrs Chas Reisdorff visited David City and Miss Alice Fox saw Stromsburg friends. Mrs W E Snider also returned Friday.
