A round of visits and events fills Polk and nearby towns. Charles Hope andwife visited relatives. Samuelson and Strand traveled for weekend business and family time. Many locals attended the Frontier exhibition in Central City, while marriages, travel to Omaha for Ak Sa Ben sights, and farm losses from a wheat fire dominate the week.

Brigham Moseman Wedding in Osceola October Ceremony

Ina M Brigham wed George Moseman of Lyons Neb after a Sunday ceremony at her mother Mrs C E Brighams home. Officiated by Carr of Shelby, it featured a ring ceremony and a large white wedding bow. Guests from Lyons attended. the couple will reside in Lyons after a visit to Lincoln and Omaha.

Golden Rod Short Cut Route Promoters Form in David City

A meeting of promoters for a Lincoln Highway shortcut from Val dey via David City to Central City gathered in David City on Wednesday afternoon September 27 in the Commercial club room. About 25 attended and the group organized as the Golden Rod Short Cut Route with Hugo Hahn among the organizers.

School news notes week of activities and events

Mrs Yeltman visited the second grade room last week. Misses Sipe Huston entertained the ladies teachers Tuesday evening. Teachers report a fine time and praise Huston for strong fourth grade work in reading and language. The chorus began practice with 75 enrolled and more coming. Sophomores held a moonlight party at Mr Berck’s east of town. Freshman class presented a fine program Friday morning. Basketball practice started with ample material for a winning team.

Fred Randall traveled to Omaha Wednesday morning to visit Wilson. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Brisbine, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Colman, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Lockhard took dinner at J. Simonsen on Monday. Mrs. N. C. Sorensen and daughter with Jno. and Peter Simonsen, mother and sister, visited.

Sunday School Indoor Picnic and Rally Day Services

An indoor Sunday School picnic last Friday drew strong attendance from children and seniors. Rally day services followed with commendable music including Miss Geral dine Walrath on violin and Miss Troup on vocal. choir leadership by Miss Troup urged for Tuesday rehearsals.

Mr. and Mrs Sam Crouse left Tuesday for a three week visit to Garrison North Dakota to see Sam’s brothers Howard Jerry and Lloyd now living there. Mrs Elizabeth Crouse has been there several weeks and will return with them.
