Sten Nordstedt Dies in Sweden At 81

Death announced in Sweden on Monday September 27 for Sten Nordstedt 81 a Central City merchant who founded a local men’s clothing store. Funeral and burial planned in Central City with arrangements pending. Survived by daughter Mrs William Patterson of New York City and a niece Mrs Elsa Erlandson in Stockholm.

Plans are under way to run an in service mathematics workshop for elementary teachers at Osceola Schools. Sponsored by the State Education Dept, materials are free. No college credit but completion counts toward certification. First 52 hour session starts 7 p.m. Thursday Oct 14 at the Osceola high school.

Gary Percy reports rainfall of 3.50 to 4.40 inches for the week ending Saturday. Surplus soil moisture and generally good conditions for irrigated crops with some fair areas. Winter wheat irrigated corn sorghums rated good others fair. Feed supplies average. Main farm work limited by rain. wheat sowing, silage, and alfalfa hay put up when possible. Early frost hurt corn sorghum and other crops more than feared. Feeder cattle demand remains steady.
