Harold Klingman led the first place, Mrs. David Rutter second, and Vic tor Sterup third among nearly fifty entrants identifying the Mystery Farm near Stromsbury as the Berck place six and three quarters miles east on the cemetery road. The Berck farm, 820 acres, features hedges and conservation work by the Soil Conservation Board member family residing since 1945. prizes include five pounds of Glo-Wax from Farmers Co-op of Osceola.

Polk county savings bonds chairman E. C. Nordlund released October figures showing E and H bonds sold totaling 22,400 dollars. January through October sales reached 339,552 dollars, 73.5 percent of the county’s 1957 goal. State Director Frank B. Heintze reported Nebraska’s January-October total of 67,730,795 dollars, 77.4 percent of the state quota. Heintze cited guaranteed value, indestructibility, and lack of market fluctuations as reasons to buy the bonds.
