Free orthopedic clinic invites crippled children in five counties

A free orthopedic clinic open to all crippled or physically handicapped persons under 21 from Fillmore, Hamilton, Polk, Seward and York Counties will be held at the York Elks Club on Tuesday, November 18, 1930, from 9 a m to 4 p m. Dr James E M Thomson of Lincoln will lead the check up with exams for teeth, eyes, ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, abdomen and central nervous system plus orthopedic assessment. Parents urged to bring children early. evaluations given with no cost or obligation.

The Literature Department meets November 17 at 2 30 PM at Mrs A F Nuquist with guest speaker Mrs Geo Campbell. Other departments including Art Craft Mother's Drama and Music plan November events and lectures on paint decoration infant discipline dark spots brighter and Negro music. The Music Department clears 30 from a weekend film showing.

Osceola Club Entertains Columbus Friends On Monday

The Osceola Business and Professional Women’s Club hosted the Columbus Club and guests at the Presbyterian Church center. A supper by Merry Workers preceded a program with Eva Sanlin Miss Mariel Swift piano duet Miss Sophia Kresha and Mrs Lillien Timm and bridge at the Legion Hall where Nora Castor won high and Blanche Rickley low.

Osceola Triumphs Over David City In Rough Football

Osceola outscored David City 12 to 7 in a hard fought game. The opening half saw a see-saw battle until a costly fumble then a 65 yard pass and run for David City with a drop kick extra point. In the second half Osceola pressed, scoring twice but missing extra points, while Johnson intercepted four passes as David City enjoyed solid passing defense. Gas On In Stromsburg After Mains Work Ends

Stromsburg completed gas main and distribution work and turned on the system at 11 15 Saturday. Alderman John L Olson filled in for Mayor Minnick to inaugurate natural gas service citywide. By night several homes heated and cooked with gas and more hookups expected as the company expands service.
