Lambe Sells Osceola Agency To Wallace McMeekin

Wallace McMeekin of Shelby has purchased the International Harvester Agency in Osceola from Larry Lambe. The deal includes the building, stock of products, and service parts. Lambe will retire and relocate to Osceola as the new ownership reorganizes for a formal opening.

Campfire Girls Meet and Plan Initiation

The Campfire Girls held a Tuesday meeting with 21 girls present and $1.05 collected. They discussed finding an assistant guardian and completed initiation plans. Bonnie Gibbins handed out candy and Secret Sisters were drawn. Next meeting set for Monday at 7 30. News Reporter Marilyn Reidy.

A $35 reward is offered by private citizens and Osceola officials for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the driver or drivers speeding and operating recklessly in Osceola Nebraska on Tuesday October 26 1943 between 9 30 and 10 00 pm. The offer is endorsed by Mayor G W Craven.

Caroline Wilhelmina Frederickson born December 5 1863 near Stockholm Sweden died October 31 1948 at Shelby Hospital aged 84 years 10 months 26 days.She sailed to Iowa at 14 to join a brother married Ole Nelson June 12 1879 in Polk County later moved Osceola and Shelby. Survived by five children two husbands and a sister. services held at St Paul Lutheran Osceola with burial in Gresham Cemetery. Continuous tribute verses accompany the obituary.

Local Oliver Dealer Tours Open House at Plant

Marlin Johnson a local Oliver dealer visited the Charles City Iowa plant last week to see ten new tractors roll off the line hourly to meet strong demand. The open house toured the mass production details for dealers in Omaha and Minneapolis territories on Friday October 15. A new Oliver tractor was shown leaving the assembly line every 544 minutes.

Osceola entered the game short of backfield players and lost 13-0 at Clarks. Clarks pulled away in the second half with off tackle runs after a scoreless first half. School Band Plans Clinic at Genoa with Guest Conductor

The high school band will attend a Genoa band clinic on December 1 with a university guest conductor. All local bands join morning rehearsals and an evening concert.
