Betty Majors of Osceola was elected national president of Women Involved in Farm Economics at the first Sidney convention. About 200 delegates from eight states attended. Nebraska led the largest delegation. The group adopted 25 resolutions including a plan to seek a conference with President Carter on farmer issues. OHL freshman Joel Carlson posted an 11 correct entry to win a weekly contest over rivals John Cerny and the Wiese brothers who each listed 10 winning teams. Several picks favored Missouri over Colorado, but the Lakeview Madison game ended 22 22. In games, Minden beat Central City 48 22 and many others noted. Nebraska rushed for 318 yards against Oklahoma State.

Tim Johansen opens with a TD, then Graham Reese and Day add scores as Osceola fuels a 14 point surge in both second and third quarters. Day passes for 175 yards, Hiemer and Graham receive, defense key with a fumble recovery and interception. Osceola finishes 7-2 varsity and 2-1 in reserves.
